隔离

说到隔离，很多人的隔离就是待在家中，英文我们可以说stay at home。

例句：They are staying at home as much as possible. 他们尽可能地待在家中。

而真正说到“隔离”，英文对应的是quarantine一词，“居家医学观察”则可以说medical observation at home。“自我隔离”也就是quarantine oneself。

If you've taken a train or flight recently, you’d better check it out to see whether you need to quarantine yourself.如果你近期坐过火车或飞机，最好检查一下看是否需要自我隔离。

用以下三种方式可表达被隔离：

be put in quarantine
place somebody under quarantine
be under quarantine
be released from quarantine 则指的是“解除隔离”。

Isolate也可以指“使……隔离”，所以“保持隔离状态”就是stay in isolation。我们还可以用isolate oneself表示“自我隔离”。

Many cities outside Hubei have also asked all returnees to isolate themselves for 14 days at home. 湖北以外的很多城市都要求返程者在家隔离14天。

疫苗最近可能有一些小伙伴已经打了新冠疫苗，那么疫苗是什么？

vaccine ['vksi:n] 疫苗

A vaccine is a biological preparation that improves immunity to a particular disease.

疫苗是一种生物制备，用于提高身体对某种疾病的免疫力。

Traditional vaccines contain microbes that have been killed or weakened so that they don't cause disease.传统疫苗包含了病原菌，这些病菌已被灭活或人工减毒，不具备引发疾病的能力。

接种疫苗怎么说？

要表示接种疫苗，可以用vaccine的动词形式vaccinate[ vksineit] 动词，接种疫苗。

He thinks he can find a way to vaccinate the elephants from a safe distance.他认为自己能找到一种从安全距离给大象接种疫苗的方法。

get vaccinated 接种疫苗、打疫苗

He got vaccinated against COVID-19 last week.他上周打了新冠疫苗。

也可以用inject[ndekt] vt. 注入；注射(药物等)

还可以 vaccinate 的同义词，inoculate和immunize。
